Summary: Post-Hunted! Gordon Walker likes to think he follows the rules but people like him, Dean, and Sammy live by their own.
Disclaimer: Supernatural is not mine.
Gordon Walker likes to think he follows the rules.
He sees the world in black and white. There are good things and bad things. People, he doesn't have to deal with. Let the authorities deal with the twisted side of humans. As long as they don't cross his path, it's not his problem.
It's the monsters in the closet that he takes care of.
"You have the right to remain silent."
Gordon remains stone-faced.
It would be so easy to open his mouth, to tell them about the Winchester crouched not too far away. He doubts they have clean records. No good hunter does. He also doubts they'll spend much time in jail. No good hunter does.
That isn't why he goes quietly, though.
It's because Sammy Winchester is a closet monster. That's a problem he takes care of.
"Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law."
Gordon stares down the fresh-faced cop, who shifts nervously and drops his gaze. The guns trained on him are unwavering.
Gordon tracks down bad guys and they arrest him like a bad guy. The irony is not lost.
"You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be assigned to you."
He holds back a laugh and he's sure Dean and Sammy are fighting down the same amusement.
These people are ridiculous. They spout out their laws and guidelines like everyone lives in the same world. They don't. Gordon knows that. Dean and Sammy know that. These people are ignorant. It's funny in a 'they're so naïve, it's cute' sort of way.
"Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?"
A smirk appears on his face. "I understand my rights," he says.
The cop is relieved, like it's the normal rights he's referring to. He'll let him believe that.
As he's placed in the car, Gordon tilts his head in the direction of the ditch. He knows both Winchesters caught it. This one's for Sammy, though. For his life, for Dean, for the contest itself, the game is on.
Gordon likes to think he follows the rules but people like him, Dean, and Sammy live by their own.
The cops think he'll be locked up for life. They're cute that way.
Tell me what you think. Review.
