~~James' POV~~

He could have any girl he wanted but he chose her. She was the one girl that he couldn't have. Lily Evans. The girl he had fancied since second year and loved since fifth year. He was always hoping that one day she would love him back. Why her? He loved her because of her generosity, smile, and personality. If only she would smile at him. He loved her because of the way she would gently bite down on her lip while reading or in deep concentration. He loved how smart, beautiful, and talented she was. He even loved the way her face would turn as red as her hair when she argued with him, simply because it meant she was talking to him. One of his favorite things about her was how her deep red hair gently curled at the ends and framed her face. Although he loved all these things about her, his favorite thing about her were her eyes. Lily Evans had the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. They were a sparkling emerald green that stood out most when she wore shades of dark green. James simply could not get her out of his head. Too bad she didn't love him back.

~~Lily's POV~~

Lily sat in a crimson armchair in the Gryffindor common room, having a silent debate with her conscience. She just couldn't possibly like James! Yet, her heart seemed to be thinking otherwise. James Potter had made her life miserable since second year. He had pranked her, taunted her, and worst of all declared his undying love for her on top of a table in the Great Hall. But although there were many bad things, he also had many good features. His messy rumpled-up hair, his quidditch-toned body, and his amazing loyalty towards his friends were just a few major things. Truthfully, he had been acting a lot more mature lately. He didn't go around hexing people just for the fun of it, and looking back, he hadn't pranked anyone except for Snape. He hadn't even asked her out once this year! What if this meant he didn't like her anymore? Maybe he decided to grow up and get over her. Just the though of it made her disappointed, though she didn't quite know why. Maybe she did like him?? No way, she told herself. She would never fancy that arrogant, unbearable, gorgeous, toerag! But however hard she tried to convince herself, she knew it was a lie. Lily Evans was in love with James Potter. But, she would never admit it. Especially not to him.

Author's Note: Sorry that it's not very long, I couldn't think of much. This is actually my first fanfic, because I prefer reading over writing :) Please review so that I know what to improve on and how to make it better! Constructive criticism is always welcome!
