This is a small fic that I thought up, I think it's quite sweet. Sorry to all the 2D/Noodle fans.

Gorillaz (c) Gorillaz. As always.

For me, Noodle was never the sort to run off, at least not in the middle of a job. But one day we noticed she had started getting giggly and light headed. Looking like she'd won the lotto. She would giggle over the silliest little things. Me and the guys couldn't figure it out, girls were a strange breed to us. But I should've figured out the next warning signs; the glitzy clothes, the constant trips to town, and nothing to show for it

She started staying out nights, without warning, driving Russel up his tree, went mad with worry, beside himself. But she'd come back with her head in the clouds, and a trip to the pub for her excuse. Russel nearly wet his pants, thinking she'd been at a guy's house, but Lynny and Heather always seamed to cover for her.

She came down to me while I was watching Five. No cable or satellite to be found in Kong anywhere, the wonky old tellies wouldn't take it and anyway we all pretty much downloaded off the internet. She looked kinda sad, so I patted the space next to me on the sofa and we sat in silence for a bit. We watched part of a program, about someone who froze their body, because they didn't want to die. Stupid really.

Noodle broke the silence first.

"What does a guy look for in a girl?"

I pondered this strange question for a bit.

"Depends on th' guy in question, don' it? Take me fer example, I'm jus up fer one nigh' stands. Russel's too taken with 'is music to bother with girls. 2D, well, e's a bit too clingy, turns mos' girls off at th' idea off a pill popper. Or with mos' guys, jus don' get too emotional, unless it's over footie, an' you can probably keep em'. Tha' help?"

"Uh... yeah, suppose."

She got up and left the room.

Next morning she had gone. Russel went mad and so did the press. It was quite funny really. Poor 2D looked like he was going to have kittens, I knew he liked Noodle (you know, in that way, but I don't think she will ever like him, in that way.). When they asked why I wasn't worried I just said:

"She'll come back soon enough."

And, six months later, she did.

I was in the lounge, watching Five, some sort of murder comedy. It was about 11 pm.

She sat down next to me.

She broke the silence first.

"It's cold, and this film's crap."

"It's th' night Noodle, an' it's only 5 degrees out, why you complaining?"

"The nights are never that cold in the Caribbean."

"Wha's th' Caribbean go' ta do with...Oh sweet... Who was it?"

"Just some bloke."

"Why th' Caribbean?"

"He lived there.

"Fun?"

"Yeah, it was."

"2D wos upset."

She didn't say anything. Next August she disappeared to Rome for twelve weeks.

I went with her.
