Joey walked angrily down the sidewalk ignoring the freezing rain that fell and soaked him through to the bone. He did not know where he was going and he did not care as long as he was as far away from Kaiba Corps. as possible. Hot tears streamed down his face, mixing with the freezing rain. His eyes stared ahead of him but his mind was elsewhere. As much as he tried to stop it, the memory of what had just happened just kept replaying in his head. He had gone to visit Seto, his boyfriend of four months, because the brunet had to work late and would miss their prearranged date. However, when Joey had entered the CEO's office, he had caught Seto kissing his secretary. The artificial red haired woman had been sitting in his lap with her hands on Seto's broad chest. The blond had yelled and screamed at both of them, broke up with Seto, and then stormed out of the building.
All of his friends had warned him that something like this would happen. He had not wanted to believe them because of his feelings for Seto, but now he knew they were right. Seto did not care about him and was just using him. Everything he had told Joey was a lie. Thankfully he had seen the truth before he had given the brunet his virginity. At least he had not told him that he loved him and so Seto did not know just how much he had broken Joey's heart. He and his secretary were probably still making out, completely forgetting about him. This only made Joey cry harder.
He was stopped abruptly as a large hand grabbed his elbow. The blond was spun around before he could say anything or even yell. Shock filled him when he was met with the unexpected sight of a soaked Seto Kaiba. The taller man was soaked completely through from the rain, not even his white trench coat offering any protection. His breathing was labored as if he had run after Joey. Joey refused to let himself hope that this was true. His eyes narrowed in a glare at Seto and he tried to pull his arm away but the other duelist would not let him go.
"Joey please listen to me," Seto pleaded.
"No, I'm tired of your lies Kaiba. I saw all I needed to see back in your office. My friends warned me that you were just using me. Go back to your whore; you deserve each other," Joey yelled at him. His voice was thick with tears and slightly muffled by the rain, but he knew that Seto had heard him.
"Joey it wasn't what it looked like. I was telling her to schedule a meeting with my programming staff for tomorrow so we could sort out the problem in the program in the game I told you I was working on. I was trying to make out date tonight. She suddenly kissed me and then you walked in. After you ran out, I fired her on the spot. I would never cheat on you, Joey. You and Mokuba mean everything to me; I couldn't take it if I lost either of you. Please, you have to believe me, Joey," Seto pleaded. Joey stared at him in shock. Seto rarely apologized and he definitely never begged. That was how Joey knew he was telling the truth. He pulled his arm away from Seto and watched his face fall before he threw his arms around the taller man's shoulders.
"I'm sorry about those things I said, Seto. I was just so hurt," Joey apologized with a choked sob.
"You don't need to apologize, Joey. Let's get out of the rain so I can call my driver and we can go home. We can go out another time," Seto suggested. He placed a kiss to Joey's wet hair and guided them under an overhang so he could call the limo.
