Not of the World

He can't remember the number of times he's been told he lives in the dream of an innocent. "You know nothing of the true ways of the world," they will say, and he will smile, and nod, and go to work in his garden.

For the ways of the world are not true, and he has looked down beneath the shells those of the world erect to play their roles and seen the Christ, full and blooming, just waiting for a breath of outside air to be unlocked.

He has seen Christ hanged and living.

He knows a better truth.
