There's a lot of white. The walls, the floors, the lab coats. Was white all the colors, or was it the absence of color? She always got them mixed up.

There are a lot of questions, too. They like to ask her questions. So many questions. But when she tries to ask something, it often goes unanswered.

What happened to the company? When can I dance again? Did you see my performance?

Was I good?

If she thinks hard enough, she can remember Lily, face alight with mocking laughter, wondering this same thing. And then she laughs, because it's such a funny coincidence. And then she remembers that Lily wanted her part. Didn't she? They keep saying her brain was lying to her, but surely she got some things right. Was this one of them?

And eventually, her head hurts from all this wondering, and she lets her gaze get lost in the white-walled oceans around her, lets her mind drift into listlessness.

There really is a lot of white here, she keeps thinking.


a little disjointed, but that's kind of the point.
