Where was I going with this?
Hiro heard it. Either that, or it was his imagination.
But then he heard it again.
It was calling out to him.
Or maybe, he muses, I'm going crazy.
What was Hiro hearing?
"Someone – has – to – help – save – professor – let – me – go – hiro – just – know – that – I – love – you – make – good – choices – don't – worry – you – knucklehead – goodbye – "
It sounded like Tadashi's voice. But he was dead.
The soft voice was so much like him. Gently reassuring Hiro, just like Tadashi's always done. It was everywhere; yet it was nowhere.
What was he hearing?
What…
What…
No, Hiro says.
It's nothing.
I'm just audio-hallucinating things.
Either that,
or,
…but that's not possible.
Nope.
And Hiro thought he was hearing some of the last words Tadashi wanted to say.
If he knew he was going to die.
And then he heard more things.
Tadashi things.
Many Tadashi things.
Surrounding him.
Almost like Tadashi was there, trying to comfort him.
But perhaps it was only an echo.
I pulled out something from The Giver here.
Can you find it?
Hint: It's either near or at the end of both this story and The Giver.
Or was it the beginning?
I'll let you decide.
Hope you liked this!
