"Avatar Korra, I'd like to request your help on a personal problem of mine. How should I go about courting someone closer to your age than my own?"
Even minutes later, Korra was laughing loudly, actually rolling on the floor around a most disgruntled looked Iroh. "Avatar, I don't see how my question was so amusing." he said calmly as Korra's laughter began to die, feeling more than a little put out.
"Oh, oh no, I m so-HAHAHA! I m sorry! I-it s ju-SNRK! Why come to ME of all people with this problem?" she asked, wiping away her tears. "I mean, wouldn't Asami be a better option to ask for dating advice? Or maybe Bolin? Sure! Ask Bolin! You re both guys, so he'd help you better than I would!"
The General shifted his stance, cheeks tainted a soft red. "Bolin...would not be the right person to ask." he admitted, refusing to make eye contact with the amused water tribe girl.
"Oh? Why not? I mean, sure, his personality is as wild as mine sometimes...but then, you did come to ME for help, so that shouldn't be a problem...so what is?" blue eyes narrowed in curiosity and suspicion.
Clearing his throat, Iroh placed his hands firmly behind his back, and looked at Korra once again. "It would be inappropriate to ask him...because he is the one I wish to court."
Several seconds passed them by in almost total silence. The waves washing up on the shore to the beach they were on the only source of sound. For a moment, Korra even forgot to breath. "...Oh."
The fire bender nodded slightly. "Now you understand my predicament. I expect that you shall not tell anyone of this." It wasn't a question, but rather a quiet and hopeful demand. Though Korra didn't take orders well, this one she would respect.
"Of course, not a soul. But, wow...Bolin? I never would have guessed...but you two are already pretty close, aren't you? You should know him as well as I do by now." Surely this was true. After all, whenever Iroh came to visit, he usually found time to spend with just Bolin. Up until now, she thought it was just friendly bonding. Now she knew Iroh was hoping for friendlier bonding.
"To a degree. However, he seems to be...oblivious to my advances. And as you two are so similar in personality in many ways, you were the ideal person to talk to." Well...that kinda made sense to Korra.
Another minute of silence rolled by, and a heavy sigh left the darker skinned bender. "Alright...I ll help if I can."
As thanks, the General took her to one of her favorite places to eat, and there, for hours, they talked.
Unbeknownst to Korra, she assisted in Iroh and Bolin becoming a couple that night.
When she found this out the next day, she only hoped that Mako wouldn't kill her when he found out.
