Sam Manson looked over at her neighbor's painting. It was really good. The prompt for the painting was to pick a line of lyrics from your favorite song. Sam had painted herself surrounded by a sea of people who looked nothing like her to go with her song "Everyone Like Me" by Thousand Foot Krutch.

This guy's painting was similar to hers in that he had painted himself in a large room that was crowded with people who were talking to each other. They were all a beige color while the kid had painted himself a deep navy blue. He was also different in the fact that the other people's expressions were happy, or animated. Sam couldn't quite identify the look on the artist's face though. It wasn't sad exactly, but it was something close. Unable to reign in her curiosity, she leaned over and asked her neighbor about his painting.

"'Dark Blue' by Jack's Mannequin," he told her.

Sam knew that song. She sang the line out to him. "Dark blue, dark blue, have you ever been alone in a crowded room?"

"Yeah," he said, his bright blue eyes piercing in to her own violet ones, "Exactly."
