A/N: gasp I killed Tenten!!
Tenten is a kunoichi.
For as long as she can remember, she has wanted to be nothing else, for nothing else has ever been so important.
The one thing that keeps her motivated is her dream of becoming a kunoichi as skilled as Tsunade-sama, her idol.
When Tenten was old enough to train without adult supervision (never mind the fact that she had been training alone since she was five and a half) she startled everyone, her parents in particular, with the announcement that she wanted to master weaponry. The only person who wasn't surprised was her oji-san and that was because he told her she could do whatever she set her mind to.
Tenten's special technique is the twin dragon scrolls. With these, she can create a rain of weaponry to trap unsuspecting shinobi. Nicknamed 'silver rain' because of the amount of steel she uses, it's the perfect technique – and she is so accurate, so deadly, that few have survived it.
The only exception to that was Temari and secretly, Tenten is filled with admiration for her. It's so seldom that she meets such a worthy opponent anyway.
Silver rain, silver steel.
Sometimes Tenten surprises herself when she surpasses her own expectations, but this time, she is only surprised by her own stupidity.
She can feel her blood pooling on the ground underneath her, soaking into her clothes. It's annoying, because she can't move to stop it. Tenten finds it within herself to laugh, albeit faintly. She doesn't have enough strength to do anything else.
Tenten is dying.
It's ironic, she thinks, that she should be the one to be caught in a rain not of her own making.
Tenten is a kunoichi.
In her last dying moments, she truly understands that to be as strong as her idol, sacrifices have to be made.
It's just that she never expected to sacrifice her own life for that dream.
