~Chapter 1~

Gia nervously dialed the oh so familiar number and let the phone ring. After what seemed like a million rings, his voice mail picked up. "This is Nikolas Cassadine, I can't take you're call right now so please leave a message." The beep sounded and she started speaking, trying to keep her voice calm. "Nikolas it's me Gia. I need to see you right away, it's really important. Meet me at Kelly's." With that, she hung up and placed her phone back in hr purse and sat down at one of the tables outside of Kelly's to wait for Nikolas.

Nikolas had just left the Grille, after having lunch. He turned on his cell phone since he had turned it off, not wanting to be disturbed for lunch. He got the beep, telling him that there was a new voice message. He waited patiently as he listened, Gia's sweet voice filling his ears. Once he had finished listening to it he frowned. What could she possibly want with me? Nikolas thought but he was happy too hear from her. Maybe she wants to give me…us…another chance He thought happily but he quickly shook the thought away. That could never happen He sighed and went on his way to go meet her.

When he finally got there, he gasped. She was sitting with her back to him but he could tell that it was her. Her hair hanging down loose and she was wearing a spring dress that went up to her knees, with spaghetti straps. As if on cue, she turned around and looked at him. He couldn't tell if it were relief or regret that he saw flicker in her eyes.

"Nikolas," She finally said.

"Gia," He responded, taking the seat across from her.

"You're probably wondering why I asked you to meet me here." She started.

"You look beautiful," He interrupted her.

She blushed a little and he did the same once he realized that he had said that out loud.

There was an awkward silence and Nikolas looked around, as if willing someone to come and help him. "So the reason you asked me here?" He prodded.

"Oh yes, well it's complicated."

"I presume you wanted to talk about it though."

"I did…I mean I do."

Nikolas didn't say anything; he just waited for her to go on.

"This isn't easy to say." She admitted.

He felt his heart catch in his throat. He had no idea what it could possibly be, hadn't she already broken his heart enough? If she thought he needed another round of that, he was so out of there…

"I'm pregnant."

Nikolas's mouth fell open and he stared at her incredulously. "What did you say?"

"I'm pregnant." She repeated.
