Disclaimer: Don't own Angel, Buffy, or Billy. )
Summary: Angel discovers a secret that Spike hadn't hidden nearly as well as he thought he had.
Warnings: Unbeta'd. Just a quick thing, though I don't think I screwed anything up horribly.
Dancing With Myself
Angel wasn't quite sure how he'd ended up on YouTube of all places, but there he was. He shrugged mentally; as long as he was on here he might as well get a song out of his head. He'd heard Spike singing it earlier, and since then he'd had "Dancing With Myself" stuck in his head.
He painstakingly typed in the words – he really needed to get more familiar with the damn keyboard, and clicked on the first box on the list. It was a music video, made back when Billy Idol was still popular.
As the words started, he was struck by how alike they sounded. He knew that Spike hadn't known that he'd heard him come into the room; the younger vampire had been in the shower at the time. He took a good look at the singer, and chuckled lightly at how spot on Xander was when he called Spike a Billy look-a-like. A few minutes later, he saw something that made his breath catch in his throat. Spike had gotten that tattoo long before Billy Idol was even born. It was an original at that; Angel had watched his Childe draw it. So how the hell did that upstart have an identical one? It didn't take even two minutes for it to click.
"What the Hell are you listening to, Peaches? Never took you for a bloody Idol fan." Angel could hear the surprise, and the trepidation in his Childe's voice. Before his discovery he'd have brushed it off.
"Never took you to be Idol either, Will." Angel swung his chair along, just in time to catch the panic flicker across Spike's face. Spike quickly schooled his features to give nothing more away and laughed, his voice holding a decidedly mocking tone.
"You're even more of an idiot than I thought! I would never act like that idiot – I don't even like his music." Angel smirked.
"That's why you were singing this song earlier, while in the shower." He knew that if the younger had been able, he'd have been bright red.
END
Lol, it's kind of stupid, but I just got the idea while watching the video to Dancing With Myself, and giggling about how Billy could have totally played Spike if he wasn't old now. Review if you're feeling generous. Thanks for reading!
