A/N: Its not a very good story. I wrote a long time ago for homework at the last minute. Last minute meaning 10:00 at night to 12:00 at night.
Artemis Fowl and the Time Waster

Story by Cowpog
Artemis Fowl sat down at the desk in his dorm room to do his "homework", but thought of it as a waste of time. He was a genius and he needed a challenge not this easy homework. Artemis thought he might as well get it over with. What he had to do was right the definition for his vocabulary words. The first word was nylon. Too easy, thought Artemis. He knew that nylon was any of a class of thermoplastic polyamides capable of extrusion when molten into fibers, sheets, etc., of extreme toughness, strength, and elasticity, synthesized by the interaction of a dicarboxylic acid with a diamine.
The next word was tarmac. Even a person with a normal IQ could figure this out, thought Artemis. Everyone knows that roads, airport runway and parking area are paved with Tarmac, tarmacadam, or basically a layer of tar. (The first three letter might give you a hint)
Hmm, this is a hard one, NOT, thought Artemis. The word was dynamite. Obviously dynamites are high explosives, originally consisting of nitroglycerin mixed with an absorbent substance, now with ammonium nitrate usually replacing the nitroglycerin.
The next word was aspirin. Ha, I have an degree in pharmacology this should be simple, thought Artemis with a smug grin. Aspirin is a white, crystalline substance, C9H8O4, derivative of salicylic acid, used as an anti-inflammatory agent and to relieve the pain of headache, rheumatism, gout, neuralgia, etc.; acetylsalicylic acid. (I think the teacher grading this is going to need an aspirin)
The next word is cellophane. Child's play. I'd rather kidnap Captain Short and risk getting punched again, thought artemis, touching his nose cellophane is a thin film of regenerated cellulose, usually transparent, employed primarily as a packaging material. It is sometimes dyed and can be moisture-proofed by a thin coating of pyroxylin.
Artemis wrote down the definition with out a thought. The sixth word was thermos which is a vacuum bottle or similar container lined with an insulating material, such as polystyrene, to keep liquids hot or cold. (Finally something I can understand.)
The next word was kerosene. Finally something with an interesting definition, thought Artemis. (I don't think I like the sound of that. It probably means a long and boring definition.) It's a pale yellow or colourless oily liquid with a not-unpleasant characteristic odour. It is obtained from petroleum and used for burning in lamps and domestic heaters or furnaces, as a fuel or fuel component for jet engines, and as a solvent for greases and insecticides.
The last word was tabloid (Who's definition I'm too lazy and tired to write)
Artemis was finished with his 'homework' and it only took him about three minutes. (That's shorter time then it took me to write this) Now he was off to do more challenging things like building a super computer made of L.E.P helmets. And we all know how that ends.
The End
