It started as a normal summer day, just like any other. I got up, I got dressed, I fixed my hair, and then downstairs and-
"I have a family announcement, Nani."
I shudder to think what will come next.
"...Oh really?" I ask, taking a seat at the table, preparing myself for the worst.
"We're going to Disney World!"
...Saying I was dumbstruck would be putting it lightly.
"...Disney World?!? ...Pleakley, do you have any idea how expensive that place is? Tell me you haven't booked us already."
Pleakley lets out a nervous chuckle.
"Uh, well, that would kind of be a-"
"To pay for that I would have had to save the parts of my paycheck we don't use for a year. A year, Pleakley."
"...I paid for it myself, a good week summer vacation," he replies.
I let out a sigh of relief.
"...That helps. So, when is this trip, then?"
"We leave Friday."
...Wow. For once he actually seems to have thought something through. That's a good day of packing after today. Time enough to tell my boss I need off, and figure out how I'm going to sneak an alien genetic experiment past airport security.
"...Okay. It'd be better to have known this a bit earlier, preferably when you were planning it, but this can work."
"Oh, and I invited David too. We didn't quite fill the 6 person large family discount so I thought I'd invite him."
...And that was when things started looking even better. Like maybe for once something Pleakely had planned wouldn't end up a disaster... Yeah, right.
