As the night fell upon Magnolia, a lamp kept a sole light on the room of a blonde mage as she wrote.

"So let me tell you, today was finally the wedding of Gray and Juvia. I wish you could have seen the reception, the cathedral was beautifully decorated." A little smile had made its way to her face now. "It was a real struggle to help Gray keep his clothes on during the ceremony. And the girls almost started a brawl when Juvia threw the bouquet. But overall we had a great time" she giggled lightly as she recalled the events of the day.

But even as she mused about the day it got harder to control her emotions when the letter took on a more personal tone.

"I really wish you could have been there, even if it was such a joyful moment I couldn't help but feel incomplete without your presence."

A lone tear escaped her eyes when she remembered the dreadful battle 5 years ago.

"HA, is that all you got fairy tail wizards? Pitiful" the voice of the pink haired demon rumbled to the area and his laughter almost shook the ground of the three wizards that stood in front of him, but even those taunts couldn't reach the hearts of his former comrades.

Lucy couldn't stop her tears, so much training. She even had gotten the final stardress form: the celestial spirit king armor. Not even that had made much difference. Was there no way to stop this demon?

"What are you doing standing there!" was the shout that snapped their attention back to the pink haired man.

"Why haven't you defeated him yet" Natsu said clearly fighting to retain control of his mind. "Just beat him up! I'll be fine!" he struggled to say the words as Zeref's demon took control again.

As the three now marched to take on the ultimate demon again, a sense of dread took over them; they didn't believe one word of Natsu's assurance.

"I wonder sometimes, why did we believe in you that time?"

"oh heavenly stars far and wide…" Lucy prepared her spell as Erza and Gray fought the demon, as Lucy readied herself she wondered 'would Natsu lie to them? Just to make sure they would defeat E.N.D.?'

"oh 88 stars of the heavens, SHINE!"

She would have to place her faith on him, as always.

"URANO METRIA!"

"Happy is still living with me so you don't have to worry" She took a pause in her writing to look at the sleeping form of the blue cat in her bed.

"You lied to us" was her lone statement, as the form of her best friend faded. "I'm so sorry, Lucy, but can I ask you one more favor? Please take care of Happy while I'm gone" he tried to grin as he placed his hand on her cheek "I'm sure we'll meet again Lucy, and then we'll have more adventures, I promise"

"I know that sometimes he cries when he thinks about you, but don't worry, I know he still maintains hope for your return. I do too"

"Because you'll come back, right Natsu?" She desperately asked as she wrote, even when she tried to keep her hopes up her heart wavered sometimes.

"I almost rewrote the whole book already Natsu. I'm sure you'll be glad to know that E.N.D. won't come back"

Just as she finished the writing the sentence she checked again the pages left of the book, just a handful of passages were still filled with Zeref's omens of destruction. From the moment the book had fallen on her hands she had been rewriting every part of it with her story, their story

"Lucy" Happy called "it's late, you have to sleep"

"I'll be over in a moment" Lucy smiled warmly to the blue haired cat.

And even if rewriting the book wasn't exactly a secured way of bringing Natsu back, she was sure that the least she could do was to transform the book, no longer a book of destruction from Zeref, now a book filled with love and friendship by her hand.

Even if the years would pass she would keep waiting his return

Because even after so many years Lucy Heartphilia is still a woman who will never lose hope.

So write she will.

"P.S. I love you."
