Eric rolled over throwing his arm across the bed, perking up when it hit the mattress. He opened his eyes squinting in the face of the bright sunlight to find that he was alone in the bed. He rolled onto his back slowly but surely convincing himself to sit up. He threw his legs over the side of the bed his feet meeting with the cold hard ground beneath them. He stood still uneasy on his feet. He put one foot in front of the other walking out of his bedroom and into the larger apartment. He approached the kitchen finding that, that too was empty.
He walked back down the hallway to the bathroom. Empty. Having searched his apartment he finally accepted that he was alone. This couldn't possibly get any worse.
He grabbed his jacket off the hook by the door throwing it over his shoulders in desperate need of coffee and breakfast. He pulled open the door revealing a partially frozen Calleigh on the other side holding two cups of coffee. She kissed him and walked in like she owned the place busying herself with making what appeared to be pancakes. He looked on in stunned silence. This couldn't possibly get any better.
