"Are you sure this is what you want to watch?" Carlos asked timidly.

"Yeah, I've been dying to see this." Kendall said as he popped the movie into the DVD player. "Why? Do you not want to watch it?" Kendall asked.

"No! I've been wanting to see it too." Carlos quickly covered.

Kendall had rented the latest slasher movie for them to watch for their weekly movie night. Carlos was thrilled to be spending time with his boyfriend after a long day of rehearsals but he was nervous about Kendall's movie choice. Carlos didn't like horror movies. At all. They scared the hell out of him and never failed to give him nightmares.

You see, Carlos wanted to tell Kendall about his fear. He really did. But he was afraid Kendall would think he was being a baby. So after flicking the lights off and grabbing the popcorn, Carlos sat down and braced himself for the blood and guts that were to come.

Twenty minutes into the movie Carlos was tucked into Kendall's side with his head resting on his shoulder. On screen another scantily clad sorority girl screamed as she was killed. Carlos jumped and buried his face into his boyfriend's shoulder.

Kendall chuckled "Scared?" He asked running his hand up and down Carlos' back. "No!" Carlos pulled away from Kendall's embrace. "I'm fine. Psh. I wasn't scared." Kendall looked at Carlos skeptically."Whatever you say." Kendall turned his attention back to the rest of the movie.

When the movie had ended, Kendall turned to see Carlos visibly shaking on the other end of the couch. "Babe?" Kendall reached out to place his hand on Carlos' knee.

Carlos jumped at his voice. "Are you alright?" Kendall asked, concerned. Carlos looked up, clearly startled. "Yeah, yeah I'm totally fine. I'm just tired I guess." Kendall stood and extended his hand to Carlos. "C'mon. Let's go to bed then. We both had a long day."

"Kendall?" Carlos whispered, trying to wake his boyfriend. "Kendall!" Carlos tried again, shaking his shoulder.

Kendall stirred and rubbed a hand over his eyes. "What? Are you okay?" "I had a nightmare." Carlos mumbled.

Kendall sat up and sighed. "Because of the movie?" Carlos nodded. "But I asked you if you were okay watching it. Why didn't you tell me you would be scared?" "Because! I didn't want you to think I was being a baby." Carlos replied, staring at the floor.

Kendall placed a finger under Carlos' jaw, forcing him to meet his gaze. "I would never think you were a baby. You're just easily scared. It's one of the things that makes you so cute." Carlos blushed "You think I'm cute?" Kendall smirked. "I think you're absolutely adorable. Now come lay down, we have to be up in a few hours." Kendall laid down, lifting the comforter for Carlos to join him.

"You get some sleep. I'll protect you." Carlos snuggled into Kendall's side. "Hey Kendall?" He asked softly "Hm?" Kendall replied already half asleep. "Will you sing soft kitty to me?"

Kendall laughed. "Sorry. Soft kitty is for when you're sick." "But being scared is a kind of sick." Carlos replied, giving Kendall his puppy dog eyes. "No it's not." Kendall rolled his eyes. "Just go to sleep. I'll sing soft kitty to you next time you're actually sick, ok?" "Do you promise?" Carlos asked "Yes I promise." Kendall mocked.

Carlos stuck his tongue out at his boyfriend before closing his eyes. "Love you." Carlos murmured "Love you too babe." Kendall replied before falling asleep.
