The Satisfying Chase

Summary: After a short chase, Slade and Robin have an interesting conversation about Robin's appearance. Sladin slight hint of StarxRob

Story:

I duck into the silent alleyway to get away from the noise of the main street. I break into a run as i realize that I'm still being tailed. I growl slightly in frustration as I am forced to find an alternative route by the brick wall and my pursuer. I growl in annoyance and begin to scale up the fire escape. The bird is still close on my trail. Wait a second. I don't hear any other footsteps. Is he alone?

"Slade!" Robin yells with a hint of desperation leaking into his tone.

I keep running. I know the games people play with your head all too well. I've been betrayed by to many people to count including the one who meant the most to me. I stop dead in my tracks as I'm hit with a barrage of memories. Robin slams into me. I turn to face him and realize that his uniform and mask look thrown on, his mask and his cape is missing.

"Did I interrupt something?" I sneer, trying to hide the pain that i just uncovered.

I am suddenly grateful for my mask.

"N-No...W-Well...Yes but it's not important right now." He mutters, flustered for some reason.

"What's the matter, Robin? Cat got your tongue? Well i suppose it would be more of 'Tameranian'..." I say smoothly.

"NO! No...Just..." He sighs before beginning again. "I don't actually like Starfire. I guess i did at first, but now...there's someone else...i just don't think i will be able to be with them."

I feel the jealousy bubbling up in the pit of my stomach. Who has captured my bird's attention now? I wish he would tell me so i can go break their bones.

"Who is this girl?" i ask.

"Why do you want to know? How do you even know it is a girl?" He yells and pushes me slightly. I hadn't realized that i had moved.

"So it isn't a girl and I'm guessing it's someone older or a villain." I say causing the bird to blush a nice red.

"Both. He's a Mercenary." He says simply and looks at the ground.

"Batman?" i ask.

"No! He's a vigilante stupid!" he yells. He sounds so frustrated.

"That only leaves m..." i stop and trail off.

I look down at him. He looks as if he is about to cry. I stare at him with a shocked expression on my face.

"I have to go..." He whispers, obviously reading my expression wrong.

The tears start to slip slowly down his face as he turns away. He only makes it about two steps before i grab his arm. He turns around to look at me.

"P-please don't hurt me, Master..." He cries desperately, slipping into his apprentice habits.

I growl slightly at the title he has chosen for me. Even now he knows who the leader is. I remove my mask. He looks at me questioningly. I tilt his head up and press my lips against his. They feel so soft. So much like a women's would but they have a texture that is clearly that of a young male. He whimpers lightly as i pull away.

"You aren't going anywhere except for home with me." I mutter.

"I think I love you, Slade..." He whispers like it's the biggest secret in the world.

I nip lightly at his ear before muttering. "About time you came around. I've loved you since i first laid eyes on you."
