It was silly, really.

Scorpius knew that Rose would never love him. She never noticed him. A confident, popular Slytherin like her had no reason to notice a quiet Ravenclaw like him.

Silly.

Silly that he would even consider it. But he couldn't ignore the way that light bounced off her hair, the way she had apologized when he "accidentally" ran into her the other day, the way that she grinned when she caught the snitch for Slytherin.

Rose stared across the classroom at the blonde Ravenclaw. She loved him, but he probably didn't even know her name.

Silly.
