The Bucket List

He looked at the paper in front of him, his handwriting jumping unceremoniously off the page, mocking him. He heard a pot clatter in the next room where his fiancé Jeanne was making dinner. Scanning the page again his eyes landed on number 26, "Tell her" he frowned. Picking up his pen, he scribbled violently through the phrase. He thought about her eyes and her smile and the way she flipped her hair sarcastically when she felt like being girlie. He thought about her lying in a hospital bed as he sat beside her unable to remove her hand from his own. She was tough as nails, she couldn't cook, she had the same sense of humor as a twelve year old boy, and He had never seen her in a outfit she didn't look spectacular in, her eyes lit up a room…

Another clatter from the kitchen shook him from his thoughts. He turned his head over his shoulder looking at the light pouring from the kitchen. He stood leaving his bucket list on the coffee table.

20 minutes later he knocked on her door. "I love you…

Just thought you should know."
