"Ya know Qrow," Taiyang slurred to the black bird standing on the window sill, "You have uh HUUUUGE problm."
"Yeah, I know. But I cn hold my liquor so much better thn you," Qrow replied from across the table. The bird in the window squawked and Tai squinted at it suspiciously.
"Yeah, but I never get drunk. You get drunk aaaaaall the time." The man waved his hand, still clutching a half empty bottle, to accentuate his point. Tai leaned on the window, staring into the bird's small red eyes. "That's not healthy, ya know."
"What are you talking about? You're as drunk as I am," Qrow pointed out. Tai hummed a response, still staring at the now nervous bird.
"Ya know buddy," the bird squawked again as he grabbed it in a hug, "we make uh great team."
"Yea, I ges we do!" Qrow laughed, taking another drink from his bottle. Taiyang tightened his grip as the black bird tried to escape, snuggling the animal against at his chest.
Qrow tilted his head backward over the top of his chair and squinted as a man approached the table. The chair tipped too far and Qrow fell onto his back, still sitting as though nothing had happened.
"Oh hey, Oz. Come ta join us?" He slurred, offering up his bottle. Ozpin looked over the men with a mix of amusement and exasperation.
"No, I just came to see how you two are doing," he explained politely. Qrow stood up again, trying to right his chair.
"Well we're great! How are you?" Tai asked, casually stuffing the bird under one arm. Ozpin gently took the bird from the drunk man. Tai didn't protest, but did look in awe, shifting his gaze between Qrow and the bird. "Wow! I mus be drunk, cause I'm seein two of you!"
Tai frown and squinted, realizing something wasn't right. Ozpin released the bird, letting it escape through the open window.
"Well, I should be going. Just one more question…" Both Qrow and Taiyang looked at the man. Oz smiled back innocently. "I was just wondering who is looking after the girls is all."
The two drunks exchanged glances, seeming to sober up immediately. Without another word the two men dashed for the door, throwing a few lien at the bartender on the way out.
Ozpin picked up a discarded bottle and nodded approvingly at the label before taking a sip. He put the bottle in his back pocket and left, nodding to the bartender on the way out.
Elsewhere, Raven latched onto a tree, panting in terror.
"I never thought I'd escape with my life!" She exclaimed, and then shivered as she thought about what could have happened if she hadn't finally gotten away. "No way I'd go out like that!"
