Changed Intro Chapter

The title above says it all. This is the new story everyone voted on. Updates will be starting around May. Look back to see what will happen next!

I still remember when I first saw them. The Cullens. All of them where sitting around the circular cafeteria tables poking at their food, but never taking a bite. They were different from everyone else in a way; and it seemed that they understood that. They kept to themselves, and even when apart would talk to no one. The next day I looked for them and could not find them. This happened several days in a row, and I wondered if anyone noticed. I never had the chance to ask, but I could see that their table remained empty. Nobody dared to sit in it.

Days turned into weeks.

Weeks into months.

Was it normal for this family to leave for so long at a time? I couldn't help but think that it was my fault.

Over the next few months I learn as much as I could about the family without drawing attention. They had moved here about a year before me, they generally took long trips, whenever it was sunny they never came to school.

My friend Jake told me about all the legends his tribe had. Somehow they where said to be about the Cullens, but at the time nothing came to me. When I asked him to elaborate, he tried to shrug off my question; telling me over and over again that it was just a story. I still could not be certain. The way he pushed it off made it sound like something was being kept from me. Does that mean there is truth to some of this?

I continued to replay the story in my head. A lot more than necessary. For some reason it seemed easier to pretend that the Cullens where 'vampires' as Jake said. I made it my business to know what the vampires where like in the legends, so the internet became my new best friend. Although everything I read could be linked to the Cullens, it seemed to be more superficial. Maybe Jake had corrupted my mind to make me think over and over again it was just a story.

For a while I even believed him. That was before I saw them outside my house. It was over summer break; school let out about two weeks ago. They looked just like the Cullens; not physically but they did have similar characteristics. Pale skin, model features, the same golden eyes that shinned back at you in the dark like a cat. They seemed to keep a constant track on me; always knew where I was and what I was doing. For some reason, it began to scare me.

Before school started back up again, I had the nerve to approach one of them. I demanded them to tell me who and where the Cullens were; they agreed. It could have been hours that we spend talking. They told me about their kind, what it was like to have to drink blood to survive, all the types of attributes that made you more powerful than anything else.

At the time, the things they spoke of both frightened me, but interested me to find out more. I realized I could have spent years talking about this; and only three hours had passed. Twilight was coming down on the town of Forks as I said my farewells to the strangers. Before I was able to return to my house they told me one more thing.

I had a choice. One of life or death.

There was no way I could wait to post this any longer, Sorry.
Hope everyone is looking forward to the new story. Leave a review if you like the idea.
