This was inspired by the episode of Bones called The Finger In The Nest. You know, that dog fighting one? The one where Brennan loves that dog but then he is put down? Anyway, I wrote this back in the summer, but only got around to posting it now. Hope you like it.

I know it's a little short, but this is the story. If you want any others to do with Siabeth and stuff, leave a review and I'll try to write it and post as fast as possible.

Disclaimer: I don't own Bones. I don't own very much, actually. I do own Siabeth, though. And this story :)

The wonderful scent of the meal she was cooking filled the air. It surrounded her, invading her nostrils, overpowering her senses.

That was all she could bear to think about.

When she heard the knock at the door, she dreaded seeing what was on the other side.

"Bones, open up!"

She finally obliged.

Booth was standing just over the threshold, a cocky smile on his face. "I brought you something to make you feel better."

What she saw surprised her. It was just so cute. The puppy barked happily, wagging it's tail.

"He needed a good home. I thought you would be perfect."

Brennan bent down and ruffled the puppy's ears. He licked her hand. She looked up at Booth. "Does he have a name?"

"Nope. You get to pick one."

She looked into the puppy's eyes. He stared back. After a few seconds, he licked her nose.

"I think he likes you," Booth laughed.

After a moment of pondering, Brennan said, "Siabeth."

"What?" "His name. Siabeth."

She hadn't realised he's run off, exploring his new home. But when she said his name, he came running back.

"You like your new name, Siabeth?" she said, running her fingers through his soft fur.

He barked as if he was saying yes.

"Mmm, what's that smell?" Booth sniffed the air.

"Dinner." Brennan jumped up, realising she'd left it on the stove. "Come in, I'll get you some."

The two enjoyed their meal while the happy Siabeth ran around exploring. Occasionally, he'd come back and tug on Brennan's leg, but he'd soon leave again.

When dinner was finished, the FBI agent, the scientist, and the puppy went for a walk. Siabeth liked to sniff things, but he was very obedient.

The next day, Brennan took Siabeth into the Jeffersonian. Even though he was very playful, he didn't disrupt any of their work, and he was very well loved.

Many years later, after living a long, happy, and playful life, Siabeth passed away. He couldn't live forever.

A little funeral was held for the dog. They all reflected on the things he had done throughout his life.

They all had little memories to share. The biggest was a story half told by Booth.

Brennan's apartment had caught on fire. She was asleep and didn't know what was going on.

Booth had passed by her building and seen a fire in a window he knew to be hers. He had gone into the building and raced up the stairs, knowing it was quicker than the elevator.

When he was almost to her apartment, he saw Siabeth pulling Brennan out the door. Later, the firemen deemed Siabeth a hero, and stated that Brenna wouldn't have lived without him.

Brennan told of how Siabeth had helped her pick out a new apartment.

That dog would be greatly missed.
