Uchiha compound

Hiruzen walked up to Fugaku's house, and knocked. Mikoto answered "Lord Hokage?"

"Hello Mikoto." Hiruzen said pleasantly.

Fugaku heard, and came into the room. "Lord Hokage?"

"Yes that's my title. Fugaku could we go for a walk?" Hiruzen asked.

"Of course." Fugaku said slightly worried.

When they had left the house Fugaku asked "What can I help you with?"

"Hmmm. I don't know how to approach this." Hiruzen said. "Minato Namikaze was Madara Uchiha's great grandson."

"What? How? He looked nothing like an Uchiha." Fugaku said.

"He was an orphan, and he was interested in his had a team of anbu investigate." Hiruzen explained. "I wasn't certain until I saw his son. He has black hair."

"I see." Fugaku said wondering what the old man wanted.

"As you know his son Naruto holds the ninetails. I was wondering " Hiruzen began.

"You want an Uchiha to adopt him." Fugaku said.

"Yes." Hiruzen said. "It's perfectly safe. Minato sealed it himself."

"I don't doubt it's safety." Fugaku said.

"Do u know of anyone who could adopt him?" Hiruzen asked hopefully.

"I can ask around." Fugaku said.

"Thank you." Hiruzen said.

"Of course." Fugaku said. "By the way what name is he using?"

"If an uchiha adopts him he will use Uchiha. Otherwise he'll use Uzumaki." Hiruzen said.

Fugaku nodded. "Is there anything else I can help you with, Lord Hokage?"

Hiruzen shook his head and shushined away.

Fugaku wrote letters to all of the households in the clan asking if any of them were willing to adopt Naruto. The next day around twenty letters arrived. The contents of most came down to a bunch of crappy excuses. One how ever was from an nine year old chunin named Shisui offering to take care of him.

'So my only offer was from an 9 year old. The Hokage is gonna be pissed.' Fugaku thought as he headed to the Hokage's office.

When Fugaku entered Hiruzen could tell the news wasn't good. "So I can guess there were no offers?" Hiruzen asked.

"Well there was one." Fugaku said.

"Who?" Hiruzen asked slightly worried.

"Shisui." Fugaku said.

"He is nine." Hiruzen said.

"I know." Fugaku said.

"Do you think he is a good option?" Hiruzen asked.

"Well he's very disciplined, and he takes every thing he does seriously." Fugaku said.

"Yes he is capable, but he's a kid." Hiruzen said.

"Well a kid who cares for him would be better than an adult who thinks of him as a chore." Fugaku said.

" I suppose... I'll talk to Shisui to make sure he understands how much it work takes to raise a child." Hiruzen said.

"You can't explain something like raising children." Fugaku said.

"I know." Hiruzen said.

That night Naruto went home with a new elder brother, Shisui, and took on the name Uchiha.

Five years later

A boy and a girl walked down the hall on their first day of academy training. They looked like they could have been siblings. The boy had spiky hair and electric blue eyes. Authors note: Imagine Yato's eyes from Noragami. The girl's hair went just past her shoulders with bangs in the front. Both wore navy blue t shirts with high collars and black shorts.

Iruka asked the boy to stand, and introduce himself to his new class mates. Drum roll "My name is Naruto Uchiha."

I plan on making the story Naruto x fem Sasuke, but I could do something els if someone asks me to. If this is an interesting idea for a story please let me know. Also let me know if it's a bad idea.
