Hologram heaven
Finally.
Some peace and quiet.
He never really cared for peace and quiet...
But that battle had been far too hectic.
He knows he's dead.
Of course he knows it.
He was the one to take his own life after all.
Peace and quiet.
But the light is blinding.
He puts a hand up in front of his face.
The handmouth smiles at him and he smiles back.
Time's moving slowly...
How long has he been here?
A minute?
A day?
A year?
It's impossible to tell.
Is this heaven?
No.
It can't be.
Then it must be hell.
No.
That's not it either.
He's not in heaven nor in hell.
Where is he?
It can't be hell because hell should be horrible.
And it's obviously not heaven because in Deidara's heaven, he would be there.
But he's not.
Why not?
They're both...
No.
He can't bring himself to say it.
Not about him.
It still hurts too much to think about.
What was that?
Maybe he's hearing things.
But it sounded almost like his voice.
He couldn't make out the words.
He's hearing things.
He is.
And now he's seeing things too because that's him over there.
Who are the other two?
Strangers.
Thieves.
They want to steal his precious broken toy.
That's nonsense.
It's neither broken nor a toy anymore.
The him that's over there right now is human.
That's it.
He's seeing things, he's seeing things.
He has never been human.
Not to him.
That sounds cruel and he knows it.
But it's true, isn't it?
He is but a piece of wood gifted with a heart.
And now all of a sudden he's flesh and bones.
Absurd.
Still he walks up to him and embraces him.
He's crying again.
How silly.
He's merely seeing things after all.
But he stillputs hisarms around him and whispers comforting words into his ear.
And that's what finally gives him the courage to say it.
To say what he hasn't dared say all this time even though he's wanted to.
I love you, he says.
Not fleetingly nor eternally.
I just love you.
