You can't choose who you fall in love with
They'll always pass each other by and smile. It can happen anywhere at anytime. They just walk past each other and smile. There is no casual hello between the two, no 'how've you been?' or anything along those lines. Just a smile.
Because that's all they can manage.
Because people wouldn't like it if they started getting to cozy together.
Because he's not of a high enough class for her.
Because she's too busy with work to spend time with him.
Because he's sleeping with a girl he doesn't love.
Because she's decided she wants her bed to stay empty forever.
Because their pride get's in the way.
Because people stop them from being together.
Oh, look! They've just passed by each other again. I'm not sure if you caught it, but they've shared a smile again. Now they've both walked away from each other, and it's as if nothing happened. But something did:
