Kurama blinked the tears out of his eyes. He had been staring out the rain-streaked window for quite some time alone in his bedroom. He hadn't eaten in days and hadn't talked to anyone in weeks. He didn't care though. He didn't care about anything anymore. In fact, he was still wearing the clothes from the funeral. 'His' funeral.

Ever since that last battle, Kurama couldn't bring himself to believe it. He could not- Would not believe his love was gone. They we're planning to move in together. They we're planning to reveal their secret to the rest of the group. But no. As it began to settle in the next few days he began to lose reason to live, and the scars on his wrist proved it.

"Hello there." Kurama's eyes flew open. He knew that voice… But no…. It couldn't be… He looked all around his room searching for the source of the haunting reminder. Nothing. No one. Kurama smiled weakly. 'Now I'm going crazy' he thought to himself. The tears came back more painful then before…

Over the next week Kurama decided it would be good for him to get outside. He decided to go to the river where he and Hiei had first kissed- A tribute to the one he loved. The sky was still grey, but no rain fell.

As he walked through the puddles through the park he stopped to look up at the sky. "Wha…" he trailed off. He had seen him there. Just to the left on a tree branch. He looked back to see nothing. He shook his head and continued walking.

When he got to the bridge he saw the cherry blossoms had already fallen and now looked disgusting covered in mud. He smiled to himself as a tear streamed down his face. He walked over to the edge of the bridge and stared down into the clear water. He started to jerk around.

"Don't look." Kurama stopped dead in his tracks. "If you look they'll send me back." said the demon behind him. "I don't want to leave again. Not ever."

" I…", the tears swelled up in his eyes. "I thought I'd never see you again."

"You won't. At least, not for a long time… Not till… I'm glad you came here. I'm glad you still remember…"

Kurama smiled. " If we're ever separated. Why can't you stay… Stay here with me. We can be together again."

"No. No we can't. It's impossible. It's a miracle they let me see you… You know I love you. Don't you? You know I'll be there for you, Even in death. I'll always listen when you need to talk. I love you more than life itself. That's why I did what I did. It was for you. So you could live. I know you think it would be better to be dead, but I could not have lived with myself knowing I let you die. Please promise me you'll quit hurting yourself. For me…"

Kurama couldn't say anything. He just nodded.

"And start taking care of yourself… You have a life to live, do it."

Kurama started to turn around.

"Stop. I already told you what would happen…"

"All I want is a kiss…", Kurama barely whispered… "Just a kiss… I won't look." Kurama blinked the tears out of his eyes, and before he could open them, Hiei had spun him around and pressed his lips to the fox demons. It seemed to last forever…

Kurama opened his eyes. To the bright sunlight. He had fallen asleep in his bed. 'But it seemed so real' he thought to himself… His eyes swelled up again realizing it couldn't have been real… He began to get up when he realized his bed was covered in feathers and roses… He smiled and tears dropped on a rose petal…

"I'm glad you remembered…"
