Tears. Pain. Emptiness. That was all she could remember anymore. There was no beacon of sunlight. No beacon of hope. No one to tell her that everything was going to be okay, no one to hold her in his arms just to make her feel safe. Day after day of coming home to an empty house and remembering the good moments, only to be replaced by the pain and terror of that day.

It had started off a normal day, almost seemed to be a good one. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping. Spring had moved into England. The breeze played with her hair making it fly into her face. It had been a Thursday. School was bearable, her friends helping her forget all past missions unintentionally. She kept counting down the moments until she could leave. Until she could go home again and see her boyfriend.

Nick was 23, too old for a 16 year old they said. But when both their lives could end suddenly they took every second they could just to feel the embrace of another compassionate human being. They held onto each other like lifelines. Him a soldier, her a spy, both putting their life's on the line for the other. It was cruel to know that any day you could come home and see an official standing on your doorstep.

It happened to be this day that both of their lives took a drastic turn. She had walked home from school that day, wanting to feel the sun on her back. Feel the breeze and wonder if she had been a normal teenager, would she still appreciate these little things? Her shadow gradually stretched under her feet. Today was Thursday, only eleven more days till he gets back. Her heart swelled and she smiled. Turning the corner, she spotted a car in front of her house. She wasn't expecting anyone today.

"Ms. Rider?" Receiving conformation the man in the suit nodded towards the door. "I regret to inform you of the loss of a soldier by the codename Eagle…"

After that she couldn't think anymore. Couldn't breathe. Couldn't even live anymore. The tragic thing was the sun kept rising and the earth kept spinning. It was cruel that the world continued even when hers had stopped. There was no good or bad, only dark. The seconds easily slipped into hours as she thought of everything they had done together.

He had smiled when she walked down the stairs. She twirled and posed, making him laugh.

"Where are we going?" He shook his head mysteriously. He made her dress up and he wore a suit. Holding out his hands in a romantic gesture he escorted her to his jeep. "Real fancy" she had said sarcastically.

"Hey, it's better than the motorcycle." He made her close her eyes until they got there. She continuously had tried to peek but had been caught. When the jeep had slowed to a stop she peeked out. They had stopped on the top of a hill. The city stretched out below them and the stars twinkled below.

"It's beautiful" he winked at her.

"That's not the only beautiful thing out here tonight." Nick had brought a picnic. True the pasta was undercooked and he almost tipped a burning candle over, but it was still the best night she had had in… ever. They had shared their first kiss that night. And as he walked her up to the door he had leaned in close and whispered:

"Forever and always."

So much for chapter one… I know it's kinda crappy, I'm sorry. I always stink at starting stories. Lo ciento. Umm… so most of these will just be oneshot flashback thingies. I was kinda emotional and sad so I thought I'd write this. I also know it's short, I am sorry for that too.

So in case you missed something: Nick=Eagle Alex=female, Eagle and Alex were dating but Eagle was KIA (killed in action). Now Alex is sad and remembering all the good times they had together. TA-DA! Please review and tell me what you think!
