Guardians of the Galaxy (marvel cinematic verse)/Legend of Korra Crossover

Characters: Mako, Korra, Asami, Bolin, and Guardians of the Galaxy cast.
Plot:
Mako, 3 months after the attack on Republic City, is still recovering from the wounds he had sustained while fighting the giant Mech that Kuvira had sent to destory the city. Due to his injury, Mako was seen as not being fit to guard Wu, to rejoin the police force, or to even assist in the recovery efforts for the city. Korra, and Asami had officially came out as a couple. Bolin, and Opal had returned to Zaofu with Suyin, to begin a family together. Chief Beifong, and Tenzin were heading the recovery projects for the city. While, Jinora, her siblings, and the rest of the Airbender nation were continuing their peacekeeping efforts across the globe.
With nothing to keep himself occupied, Mako slowly starts to fall into a depression. Bolin, and Opal, attempt to convince him to come and stay with them while he recovers, but he assures them that he's doing fine, despite all evidence to the contrary. One evening after reading concerned letters, sent by the rest of team avatar, inquiring about how he was doing, and offering their help, he begins to become stir-crazy, agitated that everyone's treating him like he was an invalid. Leaving his apartment he begins making his way to the spirit portal. Admiring it's beauty, he begins to remember all of their adventures together. Times with Korra, and Asami, with Bolin, and the Airbender children, and begins to regret his avoidance of them as of late. Vowing to become more involved with their lives, and to get over his depression, and seek help, he begins to make his way back to his apartmnent.
Before he makes his way back, sounds of drunken banter reaches his ears. Looking back towards the portal, he sees a drunken figure, swaying back and forth, dangerously close to the spirit portal. In an attempt to see if the person was okay, he makes his way over to them. As he stands in-front of the individual, he reaches a hand out to towards the figure, when suddenly they grab his hand with surprising strength, and pulls him forward.
The figure mumbles an incoherent sentence in his face, and then Mako is shoved into the spirit portal. Unable to react due to his surprise, he falls through. He is not seen again for another 5 years.
Basic premise afterwards is that he encounters Ronan, 4 years prior to the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Mako attempts to stop him from killing a Nova Corps agent that was captured by the Kree, using his firebending, he succeeds allowing the Nova Corps agent to escape. Unfortunately, Mako doesn't, now holding off the combined fury of Ronan, and the rest of the Kree soliders that were there.
He holds them off for an indefinite amount of time with his bending, tiring rapidly, he's finally overwhelmed. Just as he's about to be executed for interfering, Thanos appears ordering Ronan and the Kree to stop. Thanos, having watched from the shadows, comes forward, showing interest in Mako's bending abilites. Seeing a potential new asset. He claims Mako, as his prisoner, taking him with him, as he leaves. Ronan seeths in anger, and vows that he will kill Mako, due to his insolence.
And thus begins Mako's journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Right now I'm still in the planning stages for the story, any help, or critiscisms are appreciated. I don't really have any love interests set-up as of yet. I would really just like the story to basically be about Mako developing as a character. I plan to release more after I brainstorm a little bit more, probably in a week or so, once I have more of an idea as to where I plan on taking the story.
