Same Old, Same Old by Vecturist

Summary: Sheppard and McKay are in trouble again. Why should Halloween be different from any other day?
A/N: Written for the SGAHC Halloween challenge and as sort of a personal five minute challenge because I'm bone tired from the project and paper from my classes I had this weekend. Inspired by one of my own somewhat silly fears. Explanation follows the story.
"McKay has anyone ever told you your scream rivals that of a thirteen year old girl?" Despite the pitch black, Sheppard was sure he could feel the physicist glowering at him. "Even if the walls are soundproof, I'm sure everyone knows where we are," he couldn't resist adding.
"They know where we are because of your brilliant choice of hiding places, Colonel. You had to pick a place with the potential to be even scarier than what we're facing out there. I'm sure I've seen plenty of sharp, scary objects coming out of here, and without a light who knows what I could bump into? Do you have any idea what they keep in here? I think I've seen at least one body! I mean really?"
"I'm sure that's only your imagination, your mind's functioning in its usual worse case scenario protocol, McKay," Colonel Sheppard retorted, trying to convince himself as he shivered again in the damp coldness, conditions that were starting to feel a little more claustrophobic than he liked. Both he and Dr. McKay were clad only in short sleeves and he was certain they both could use a few more protective layers. That and a stunner. He really wished he had a stunner right about now. It had all begun so innocently, a simple favor, then the usual betrayal, sending them scurrying for cover. Unfortunately their choices had been rather limited.
Both men continued to shiver in the dark and cold enclosure, debating how long they could hold out, hoping against hope those outside had lost interest and avoid any confrontation.
This was not to be. The leader joined one of her officers in vigil outside, waiting patiently.
"So Carson, have John and Rodney come out yet? I believe Radek's taking bets on how long they can stand to hide out in the cold storage lab. Just what did inspire this?"
I believe I mentioned annual physicals and practice for one of the nurses who's having trouble starting IVs. I'm hoping that this little experience, given that its Halloween will scare the boys out harm's way and out of my infirmary for awhile, Elizabeth," Carson explained as solemnly as he could, before a impish grin crossed his face. "Tell Zelenka to put me down for thirty minutes."
A/N: I really hate working in the cold labs – they're mini labs about the size of a walk-in closet kept at a temperature close to freezing. Really handy for the storage of certain chemicals or doing cell preps or extractions that require cold temps, though. You can't lock yourself in, but getting stuck in the pitch black coldness tends to freak me out a little.
