Brand new story that's not a one shot! Yay! Ok, here's the deal, I have looked up the basis of Mysterio and some of the "powers" he has which are just basically all man made hallucinogens and illusions to trick and/or disorient Spiderman. So, in light of the new Spiderman: Far from Home movie that is brewing to come out I wanted to do my own take on our fearless Peter Parker's first encounter of Mysterio and my take on what might happen. It is a lot more direct and if you want comic book accuracy TURN BACK NOW (I warned you, no complaining.). BUT! Without further ado, chapter one:
Come on Peter! You haven't been over in like four weeks man! Just for tonight, you need to take a break from the heroing! Even for just a little bit, you have been patrolling non stop and it's putting you under too much pressure- it shows. If it shows to me then I'm pretty sure it shows to the bad guys you fight too! Besides, even super heroes have to take a break every once and a while…especially considering I have the new Lego set of Star Wars characters to put together…" Ned lowered his voice as his friend's eyes grew with his own sentence.
"Alright! Alright! Gah, you sound like Mr. Stark." Peter sighed and scratched the back of his neck, a nervous tick he had fallen into as of late, "Maybe- Maybe you're right, I can come over for…an hour tonight."
Ned shrugged, "I'll take it." His grin widened as he and his friend made their way out of the school's double doors and straight to Ned's mom's car. "Hey mom! Is it ok if Peter-"
"Of course, honey! Hello Peter! We have missed having you around!"
Ned rolled his eyes as he and Peter filed in the back seat, "Sometimes I think she likes you more than her own son-"
"Crap. I better call aunt May, she will kill me if she has to wonder where I am!" Peter dialed aunt Mays number, halfway hoping she would get mad at how last minute this was, the teen was already so stressed because this meant more than an hour of his patrolling was taken away for the night.
"Peter? What's wrong? Are you ok?"
It was never hello.
"Aunt May- no! I'm fine. Yes, I promise. No! I-I wouldn't lie to you!" Peter rolled his eyes as Ned snickered, "I was just calling to say I am going to Ned's house- I'll be home by 9, ok?"
Peter nodded as Aunt May told him the usual slew, "be careful, I love you, don't be late. I know, I know... love you too, bye"
Once Peter finally got to hang up they were already at Ned's house. Peter sighed all too dramatically as Ned shut his bedroom door and let out his burst of laughter he had been holding in the whole car ride, "so rehearsed, I love how well your aunt knows you." His voice then changed as he started getting the small Star Wars set out. "Peter…why did you say 9PM?! You will only be over here until 5!"
"I…well. If I don't patrol a little I feel guilty, it's how I cope, Ned!"
"How does Tony feel about you going out every single night? You know…it hasn't been that long since the incident."
He was talking about the suicide attempt that had happened months ago now, it was unlike Ned to even bring it up, but Peter shrugged it off.
"Ned- it's not that. Really! I-the medication is helping and Mr. Stark is finally letting me limit the counseling to once a week instead of two times a week. I was scared to patrol again- now it seems like I can't get enough of it. How cool is tha-"
The world stopped.
Colors bled into other colors as Peter grabbed at his own face.
His head started to get heavy, he looked down at his hands in confusion as dizziness blackened his eye sight and he felt his world shift.
A harsh voice was calling him out as he came to, he didn't know how much time had passed or where the hell he even was for that matter.
"P…ark…er? Hey! Penis! Get up!"
He was laying on a concrete floor. Good start. "What…? Where'm I? I was just at Ned's house!"
Flash quickly got up from where he was kneeling beside Peter only moments ago, he looked up and down the dingy school locker room to make sure no one had seen his rare show of concern for the nerd.
"What kind of drugs are you on right now? You have been knocked out in this locker room since 7th period ended! You just passed out! Right after you said no to Ned for the billionth time this week about the same stupid Lego set and he ran off."
Peter looked down, his hands were shaking and he felt so tired, that's when his memory came back.
No, something else had happened…he never left the school with Ned at all…
A man.
There was a man in the gym.
Ok. Thoughts. Thoughts are good, what else?
The man…He thought the man was his gym teacher. That's right.
It looked like their teacher, but his Spidey senses told him otherwise. He had backed him into his office after class demanding answers- that's when a cloud of smoke flew at him and he was kicked out of the office and shoved into the sea of already angry teen boys in the locker room as the green and purple blob of color disappeared.
Shit.
Peter stood up, his body felt numb as realization washed over him, "so I nev'r left?"
He assured himself that he was sane, that whatever the man threw at him made him hallucinate or become disoriented. Even so, his grip on reality shifted a bit, 'I'm not going crazy, the man just messed with my head a little, that's all, don't overthink this.' Even trying to think postivey about it was becoming difficult as Peter stared at his hands,
Flash sent an unwavering stare towards the boy before sighing, "You're such a loser." Then made his grand exit, masking any and all concern he had, had for Peter only moments ago.
Ignoring the extreme dizziness, Peter quickly grabbed his bag, he checked his phone as he stumbled out of the locker room and down the hall, his face instantly paling. "Shit, it's a'ready 3:30…"
He groaned as he opened one of five text messages from Happy: Kid, Tony is coming into the school to look for you, get your ass out here. I'm parked out front.
"Happy is waitin' out front?! Crap- Mr. 'tark is here…wait…am I? M'slurring words…not good, I feel like c'ap…crap. Focus Peter, foc-"As Peter rounded the corner he ran into a well suited man walking rather fast, a set of steady hands caught him as his world tilted.
"Kid?"
I am writing this story in regards to my other stories being a part of Peter's past so if some of that didn't make sense I would refer back to 'The Price of a Life' (one of my older stories) Anywho! Thoughts? Suggestions? Review em!
