Chapter 1,
I was pissed. Why? Being captured by Erasers may do that to a person. These things had stormed them while my flock had slept in the underbrush. It wasn't a good fight, Grayson and Dalilah were really groggy and couldn't hit that hard. Savannah and Lindsey were trying to fight, but their muscles were still sore from fighting them yesterday. Izo and Star were the ones who managed to crack a few skulls. That made me laugh.
"This way" The gruff Eraser growled, grabbing my shoulders. Big mistake, I thought. I wheeled around, snap kicking him. The blow connected with his right temple, and he crumpled to the ground. Dead. The alarms went of and suddenly I thought of my flock.
"Dalilah! Grayson! Star! Lindsey! Savannah! Izo!" I shouted franticly. Suddenly a huge white panther was next tome, giving me a reassuring gaze as an Eraser morphed in front of us. Star leapt through the air, and then there was the sound of teeth snapping and skin tearing. I couldn't bare to look. I wheeled around when footsteps echoed behind me.
"Jeremiah, Jeremiah, what a surprise your up to this escape" The Doctor grinned wickedly. But I grinned back.
"What can I say? I was always a trouble maker" Then, I leaped over him, kicking his spine hard so that he bent forwards and his spine almost out of his back. Suddenly I saw something fly across the room and hit the approaching Eraser. One thought came to my mind. Lindsey. Suddenly she stood behind me, Izo behind her, holding Grayson in his arms. I nodded towards Izo, hoping to convey the message that he should take Grayson and go. He nodded, his black lanky hair falling over his blue eyes. Star ran up, shifting into her human form, a girl with snow white hair and emerald green eyes.
"Hey, is everyone alright?" She asked, I shrugged. Lindsey sighed, before breaking pieces off of the plaster to beat the wounded Erasers unconscious, with her telekinesis. We all had weird abilities like that, but that was okay. It was what had kept us alive since we escaped. Yes, we did escape before. Don't doubt us! Anyway, that was when Savannah and Dalilah showed up. Savannah was bruised and battered but she could still fight like she'd excelled in every martial arts class she took.
"Yo, time to go!" I smiled, grabbing Savannah's hand and opening my dusk gray wings. She blushed and open her tawny wings. Lindsey grabbed Star with her telekinesis, flapping her golden wings, oddly enough they had pink speckles. But hey, I don't judge, I'm a bird kid for God's sake. Dalilah floated casually behind us, her dove gray wings beating slowly.
"We should head south. Get into a warmer climate, Agreed?" I asked.
"I agree," Izo confirmed. Everyone else basically nodded. We had no clue where we were but, south was south. So we flew until dawn the next day.
"Can we stop now?" Dalilah whined. I sighed, diving downward, submitting into her request. Twenty minutes later we sat outside McDonalds' a coke and burger in hand. Grayson and Dalilah even got to play in the play place and got to be little kids. I was happy for them. They deserved this. What happened next was unthinkable. A tiger was watching us. Focusing on us. I saw it and prepared for take off. Stars hair flew up as if wind had been blowing at it.
"I know him…" She stared, dumbfounded. I gave her a look of 'Tell. Me. Now.' Lindsey and Izo came out, holding hands and an ice cream cone. As soon as they saw the tiger, they dropped the cone and formed a defensive stance. Suddenly another tiger stood beside it. Then another, and another, this continued until there was ten. I should have known. Tigers definitely aren't in North America.
