Prologue
Warmth; surrounded by a layer of liquid I remained still, for as long as my memories would take me... if I had one. My surroundings were covered in absolute darkness, yet, I felt no chill. It seemed to me like waking up for the first time as I heard obscured sounds and voices. I couldn't clearly comprehend the exchange of words, but if my ears had not served me wrong, there were two men. Desiring answers to my queries, I wanted to breathe and talk, but liquid intruded my mouth and had me coughing violently. Silence fell into the area; no more was uttered.
The next thing I knew, the sounds of shattering glass and splashing water rang within my ears, followed by the impact between my form and a solid surface along with stinging pain down my spine; the ground felt smooth and slippery under my skin as I gradually lifted my heavy eyelids, only to find two figures lying motionlessly a stone's throw away from me, as though they had been ambushed. After a short pause, I managed to get myself back on my feet.
I blinked, turning to take everything in, before staggering out of the dark lab-like room, not giving my surroundings a second glance. It looked like an underground location, since at the moment I climbed out, sharp rays of bright light hit my frame with gentle breezes caressing my cheeks. Combined scents of flowers, water and old concrete filled my nostrils as I sat amongst the greens.
...A rundown church, huh.
"You! What do you think you're doing here?" hollered a feminine voice as it echoed throughout the entire worn building. Instinctively, I turned towards the source, glancing up at the somewhat tall female in a stance ready for attack with two children hiding behind her, trembling in fear. My eyes widened slightly as confusion filled my train of thoughts.
"I don't know..." was my only reply, and it had me thinking. Just what was I doing in the underground chamber? I couldn't remember anything regarding to previous events that led me to the place, nor could I recall any names or faces from the past. However, she did look familiar, yet no name came into mind. To my surprise, she loosened her tensed muscles and approached me, still full of awareness before sheepishly kneeling down. "Never mind. My name is Tifa Lockhart, but just Tifa is fine. What is your name?"
"Yazoo."
Gah! Done!
Hi guys, it's been a while since I've written anything. It's really short, so I'll try to get the next chapter up as soon as possible. I don't know how many of you watched Final Fantasy: Advent Children, nor do I know how many of you are interested in these fanfics. But I enjoyed both watching the actual movie and thinking up on ideas for this story!
This is a commission for emeraldd30, so I hope you like the prologue and how the story is going so far. Do comment away your opinions on this story, I'd really appreciate it. That's about all I have to say, so I'll be off and hope to see you guys soon~!
