After everything Leon Scott Kennedy has gone through, no one would (or could) question his stoic demeanour and why a smile from him is a rare treat.

What should he smile about anyway? It's too much effort and he has loads of work to even think about doing it. Paper work, bioterrorism, Ashley Graham, etc.

Speaking of Ashley Graham, the president's daughter, she would sometimes force him to tug his lips up to get rid of the seriousness in the room. But nothing sincere.

You can blame Umbrella and what happened in Raccoon City because of them. He was supposed to be a cop but what do you know. A zombie apocalypse greeted him on the first day. What a surprise.

Thankfully, he was late from his supposed job after drinking his heart out in a bar when his then girlfriend, Maggie was it, broke up with him. It was a serious enough relationship for Leon to get drunk about it. And oh boy, did it unexpectedly saved his life. And ruined it at the same time.

He could tell a million reasons why the past incident in the now non-existent Raccoon City scarred him. But he cannot deny a certain brunette he met that day.

Claire Redfield, a person that can make him feel human. And alive.

She is his bit of happiness. The woman he loves.

Now, she's sitting in front of him, elbows propped on the table in the cozy cafe they're in, ranting about how stressed she is in her work and how annoying her boss is.

Leon couldn't help but smile.

p.s.

I actually have no idea what Leon's ex's name was.
