Peter Pan stared at the crumpled letter in his hands. He had read it so many times it was creased and torn in a corner, for he had folded and unfolded it countless times. It was a letter from Wendy he had received two days earlier. It only had four words written on it. '' Find Me. Love Wendy."
At first he had thought it was a cruel trick played on him by the one of the lost boys. But none of them knew his secret. That he was in love with Wendy and had been from the night he first saw her in the nursery telling stories about him and Captain Hook to her brothers. Tink had known right away, she had seen it his eyes when he got back that first time. That was why she had been so jealous when he brought her to Neverland. But then she had missed her family and wanted to go back to London. She had promised him he would see her again someday and that she would never forget him. Peter had believed her at the time, but as the years went by, he began to think that he would never see her again, that maybe despite her promise she had forgotten him.
Then, just as he was he about to lose hope, about to try and forget, the letter came. He had nearly fallen out of the air when the messenger Dolphin had given it to him. Today he was finally ready to go back to London and find her. His blondish hair was actually brushed, except for a few meddlesome bangs that kept falling into his face and his sky blue eyes sparkled with excitement. He had even mended his customary light green leaf tunic. His sprinkling of freckles shone in the bright sunlight. He waved goodbye to the lost boys promising to be back soon, and then he was off. To find the one and only girl he had ever loved in nearly two hundred years of life.
