They say going into the wall caves on the main island is taboo, bad luck or off limits. They may be right, but most times the only way to figure these things out is to try for yourself. That's what my parents thought when they decided to explore the hidden caves of the Black Beach wall caves (caves located in crevices of cliff sidings). They didn't expect to find what they found, in fact they told me they didn't expect to find anything, which is why their disappearance was so strange, well, you know, aside from the whole disappearance part.
Both of my parents are legend seekers, they only seek one legend though; The legend of the Ahi Stallion. Strange, I agree, they would travel all over Hawaii and the mainland just for a fake horse but I got to live in Hawaii so I went along with it, but now it's gotten them lost. You see I grew up in Nevada, on a big ranch that my mom's dad owned. My dad worked there and that's where my parents met and had lived ever since. You see there are tons of horse legends in Nevada; Legends of wild horses, imported horses, all sorts of things. My parents never cared for them and then all the sudden one day SURPRISE we're moving to Hawaii.
The association my parents were part of knew of a couple ranches owned by paniolo in Hawaii and agreed to let us stay on one if they sold their part of my Granddads ranch in return. Obviously my Granddad wasn't very happy about it and threatened to disown both of them, not really sure whether he actually did. But they had gone crazy practically, and couldn't be persuaded to stay. They still acted like themselves. Just set and bound to find this stupid Ahi Stallion. It's been about 5 months that we've been in Hawaii. The scenery is great, most of the people are really nice, there's just those stupid school kids that keep calling me haole, and the beaches are gorgeous, but I hardly saw my parents, and touring/vacationing was like kapu to them. But I guess I shouldn't be that mad at them now that their goneā¦
The police say there's nothing they can do, since no one knows where they were when they disappeared or who would kidnap them. Of course they were in the caves but if the police knew that when they found them they would only get arrested. So it's up to me to find them.
