Hey guys! It's Time Flies In The Summer again with the eighth installment of the Dialogue Prompt Challenge!
I'm a little late because I have been busy the past two days. However, I will try to upload another one today if I am able.
Now, onto the story!

Dialogue Prompt: "Well the best of the best weren't available… so we got the best of the mediocre."
"You called the best people for the job correct?" Bakura asked into the kitchen phone. He had made sure that his hikari was asleep before creeping toward the kitchen area to call someone.
"Well the best of the best weren't available… so we got the best of the mediocre," the voice said.
"…That's fine I suppose," Bakura said with a smirk that quickly became mischievous. "As long as they know what they're doing. Bye now."
The Egyptian hung up the phone with and chuckle and went to bed with a smirk still on his face.
…
"Bakura, what did you do?" Ryou asked the next morning with crossed arms and a glare in the doorway of his room.
"Good morning to you too Landlord," Bakura said, sitting up slightly in his bed with a yawn.
"What did you do Bakura?" Ryou asked again. "Yugi just called me saying that the house was broken into last night by some people trying to exorcise Yami."
Bakura couldn't even keep the smirk off of his face when he asked, "How are you so sure I had anything to do with it? As funny as that sounds, there's no proof that I did anything."
Ryou fixed the former spirit with a look. "The exorcists said they were hired by someone called the Thief King. So I'm fairly certain it was you."
"We're going to apologize later today. Whether you want to admit it later or not," Ryou said before turning to leave just as Bakura opened his mouth. "Get ready."
Then the hikari was gone, leaving the smug and smirking spirit to prepare for the day.
