"We're alone, like weeping children with no home. I lost your hand, but the memories will stay. It won't fade away." Judal sighed to himself as he stared up at the darkened sky, ruby eyes vacant and dull.

Love.

He didn't know that such a thing could have ever changed him. Yet here he was, alone again after losing that one person he thought he could trust to someone else.

Maybe it was just him... maybe there was something wrong with him, defective, maybe there was something inside of him that made him push everyone away when they got close to him.

In the silence of the night he wondered to himself, asking himself if perhaps love was merely the same as hate. That pain would be his only fate. That he was in some way unworthy of any kind of happiness.

Because what had he ever done in life than give empty and broken promises?

He was a liar and a cheat. He hurt people for fun because that was all he knew how to do, and then that feeling had reared its head and changed him... it made him pause, made him think and start to care about someone other than himself.

It was a mistake.

And after opening himself to that one person, after letting them in and telling them those three simple words... he was abandoned. Left out in the cold and forgotten like a piece of trash.

Judal smiled faintly at the thought, a broken little smile that showed just how lost and dead inside he had become.

He had loved once.

But now he vowed to love no more- it was too painful for his naive heart.

He had nothing to believe in anymore.
