Dark blue painted the sky and stars spread across as far as the eye could see. The lights in the West Block turned on, lighting up the slums. Nezumi sat on a random concrete block overlooking... Well, everything. He liked to imagine the lives that carried on down below in the town despite living in such unlucky conditions.

A soft breeze blew from the east, making him shiver slightly. He dug his hands deeper into his pockets.

A sigh escaped his lips and on this winter night, his sigh could be seen in the air.

It was on nights like these that he remembered his past. He remembered fire. For a split second he felt the heat of a large, distant fire but the winter chill replaced it. This is how vivid he remembers his past.

He remembers losing everything. He remembers losing the things he held close to him, things he didn't think would be gone so fast.

And then the tears come. It's only a teardrop from each eye, but he feels weakened by it.

Hadn't he come this far to become numb to this kind of pain?

How could he be so weak?

"Nezumi?" A boyish voice questioned from behind.

He didn't say anything. Nor did he turn around. He couldn't be seen like this by anyone. Especially Shion.

He brought a hand up to wipe his tears but a pale, firm hand took hold of his wrist before it could reach his cheek.

Shion's grip was surprisingly strong.

"Shion...?"

Nezumi forced himself to look at him. Shion looked like he wanted to ask so many questions, but he didn't. For that, Nezumi would have to say thank you later.

They stared into each other's eyes for a while, waiting until the other spoke.

"Shion..."

"Nezumi..."

Shion stared for a few seconds more in Nezumi's watery eyes before pulling him into an embrace.

Nezumi didn't refuse the embrace, but he didn't return it either.

"I'm so weak." Nezumi mumbled quietly.

"What?"

"I'm weak." Nezumi said a bit louder.

Shion shook his head, tightening his hold on Nezumi. "For crying?"

Nezumi nodded in response.

"No you're not." Shion said gently. "Crying isn't a sign of weakness. It just goes to show that you've been strong for too long."

Nezumi didn't say anything.

Shion smiled. "For too long, Nezumi."

SO UH YEAH. THAT'S IT. It's so sketchy, I know. When I started I was very determined but somewhere in the middle I just got kind of 'bleh' and wrote whatever. Whoopsie. It's really bad, I'm aware of that. It's because I've been neglecting to write any fanfiction ~
