The Rebellion of the Noldor

-

Lissinen, youngest of the Ainur stood resolutely next to Ulmo, her dearest friend and Lord of the Seas. The rebellion of the Noldor was in full swing, and the Valar had called an emergency council.

"The Noldor are willingly leaving Aman, and we all know there is little we can do about it." Lorien was saying, playing with the sleeve of his robe.

"We can do little but look after them from afar, as that seems their wont. Unless… nay, it is madness…" Yavanna trailed off.

"What is madness sister, pray speak up." Lissinen spoke at last. Though the youngest she was, her views were cherished and her advice was always level headed.

"That one of us should go with them in secret to guard whom they see fit. But they will know us…"

"Nay." Lissinen once again spoke, "They will not know me, for more scarcely do I appear than even Ulmo."

Manwe shifted in his seat. "Do I hear you rightly, Lissinen, that you would take this task unto yourself?!"

She nodded serenely. "Little love do I have for the Children of Eru, but I may yet learn. If you would grant it, brother, I will go."

These words she would both regret and yet not regret for the eternity that followed…

She had made herself a mortal body with the help of Tulkas, so this body was like the embodiment of her spirit. Raven black, silky hair, sparkling green eyes, pale skin, and long, elegant limbs. She was garbed in a dress of white cotton and was provided with traveling essentials as well as sturdy boots. She stood before her kin once more, clad thus.

"Our best of wishes go with you Lissinen, may you succeed in your task." Manwe said gravely.

And then she left. She slipped into the crowds and followed. She looked around at the edhil surrounding her. Surely they regretted… One looked her direction and their eyes met. Her sea-green sparkling eyes met his odd, grey ones. And in that moment, she knew her heart to be lost. She took in the rest of him. Long hair like spun gold fell far past his shoulders, an exceptionally handsome face with pale, flawless skin looked slightly sad. His body was lithe, and he was tall and proud in stature. But then, he was swept away by the crowd, and she was left breathless.

A/N Like, didn't like? Please be gentle, I have little experience writing about the Valar and Maiar. I prefer elves immensely, they are much more simple creatures… But anyway, who do you think the elf she is enamored of is? Please R&R
