For Jon, one of my best friends. He likes Narnia, he is the one that got me into reading the stories. I had started this after I finished The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Lucy stared at the painting on the wall.
Edmund stared at the plain wall of the room.
Eustace stared at his cousin, nodded to Edmund when he looked at him and then left the room so that they could have a moment.
Lucy turned away from the painting of the ship and launched herself at Edmund, sobbing into his shirt.

The days came and went, everyone returned home. Peter from studies, mother, father, and Susan from America. And everyone noticed the change with Edmund and Lucy.

Peter knew once he saw Edmund walking differently towards him from across the school courtyard.
Susan knew when she walked in after her father and mother and saw how Lucy sat holding her legs staring into the fire in the fireplace.

Lucy looked. She remembered what He had said, that He was in this world. She was going to find him. She needed to find him.
She had always seen him before, she would see him now… wouldn't she?

Eustace came to visit his cousins before he was to be sent off to school. They sat around the front yard, talking, or just taking in the noise. He told them his part of the story.

Lucy cried, but she found Aslan in this world, she had been in town with Edmund when she saw the lone Lion statue in front of the church. It shone like something from out of this world. She ran across the street, Edmund on her heels, calling after her. But he stopped calling when he saw the lion too.

She told Peter, and he went to see himself. She told Susan, she said she would go later, but later for her meant years, it meant a time when she was alone in this world.

You would never find Lucy sitting in the Church, you would only find her sitting on the ground outside the church next to the lion statue.
