A Martin Mystery fanfic preview

She and Java were chained to the wall, forced to watch the madman's sacred ritual to raise the creature. And her brother was the sacrifice. "No! No leave him alone!" Diana yelled as she pulled against her restraints.

The man smirked, he grabbed the unconscious Martin's chin and turned his face to where they were facing each other, he pulled Martin's mouth open, and the guy opened his mouth too. Slowly a mist seeped out of Martin's mouth into the madman's mouth. "No! Stop it!" Diana felt tears prick the corner of her eyes. He was taking Martin's soul. Martin's soul completely vanished into the man's mouth.

The man closed his mouth, released Martin, and walked back to the Black Alter behind the stone tablet which Martin lied on. Martin's head fell limply to the side, his eyes closed, and his mouth partially open where glistening white teeth showed. Diana looked at his face, he was pale. "No Martin! Get Up! You have to get up!" Diana yelled at her brother, who was completely motionless on the stone tablet.

"You're wasting your breath; your brother is gone and he isn't coming back." The man said as he took the soul he extracted and placed it in the ritual urn.

"No….Martin…." Diana let her head hang down. "This is all my fault….if I hadn't yelled at him…and hadn't run him off…" Diana sobbed. He had wished something stupid in one of his rants about paranormal activity just after he got her in major trouble, "You know what I wish…?" She had snarled at him, Martin looked at her curious, "I WISH YOU WEREN'T MY BROTHER AND I WISH YOU DIDN'T EXIST!" She bellowed. Martin had looked at her like someone just told him that his favorite monthly paranormal magazine was no longer on the market. He had looked at her heartbrokenly, he ran out of the room.

"Hmph." Diana stuck her nose up in the air in walked away in the opposite direction that her step-brother went in. "Oh Martin, I'm so sorry… I swear, I didn't mean it." Dianna looked at her dead brother.
