We Meet Again: Chapter One
She was nervous. How could she not be right? Rachel Berry hadn't been in her home town since high school graduation, and now, almost five years later, she couldn't help but feel anxious to reunite with old friends, old memories. Rachel left the little town of Lima, Ohio to become a star, she had always strived to be the best, the girl who you would know anywhere, but high school had been a living hell. From freshmen year to her final day at McKinley Rachel was ridiculed, but she never let vicious classmates blind her from her dream. Rachel Barbra Berry was going to be a star, no matter what it took. When she found a small studio apartment in New York she did well on her own, she found a well-paying job at a vegan restaurant, and she managed to land some small roles in off Broadway productions. Nonetheless, Rachel felt good about being on her own, every time she imagined what happened the day before she left her heart sank into her stomach and her throat slowly started to close in. No, she would not think about that day or he who must not be named, she was going to be a star dammit! Oh how wrong she was, in the first month of living in New York she was laid off at the vegan restaurant and the small roles became smaller and smaller until they were almost nonexistent. Rent was due and she had barely enough money to buy her food. Two days before she knew the landlord would come to collect rent she got the call… "Hello?" "Hi Honey!" "DADDY!" she was more than happy to hear her daddy's voice at a time like this. "How are you sweetie?" she heard her papa chime in from the background. She let out a shaky breath before bursting out her predicament in between muffled sobs. "Shhh, calm down Rachel it'll be alright." Before Rachel new it she was walking into the airport heading for flight 37 to Lima, Ohio. As she laid her head on the cool glass of the window she let some of the old and less painful memories come back she slowly drifted to sleep.
