Korra pressed against Tahno's trunk in an effort to draw some of his warmth. He smiled, lovingly if a bit patronizingly, and curved his limbs around her. "I'm glad I'm with you, uh-vatar," he murmured.
"You don't have to call me that, you know," Korra said. "I have a name." Despite the rebuke of her words, she snuggled her face into her chest, preventing her from seeing his uncharacteristically gentle smile.
"All right, Korra," he replied as he kissed the top of her head.
"I'm glad I'm with you, too," Korra said, as if their last exchange hadn't taken place. "You are a pretty boy."
"Prettier than you are."
Korra yanked her head away and frowned at him, making him chuckle. "Take that back!" she insisted.
Tahno chuckled darkly. "You're far from ugly, Korra. But I don't think anyone's prettier than me; do you?" he replied, earning a pout from Korra.
"It's lucky I love you so much," she told him. "Otherwise, I'd have to show you up." She paused, waiting for a comeback. But instead, when she tilted her head to see his face, she saw his eyes had closed. "Sure fell asleep fast," she muttered. "You wouldn't be... faking, would you?" But she received no response. "Guess you really are asleep," she said, more to herself than to Tahno. But asleep or awake, she thought, he was just as warm. She snuggled against him, and was soon sleeping herself, as comfortably as she ever had.
