A/N Hey! Everybody, There's some more info about how this story is to be written in my profile. I wouldn't expect updates too terribly often, but hey, you never know!I know this is a really short chapter, but it's the first little blurb that was written. Please no flames, and I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I am not J.K.Rowling. I own nothing but the measly plot. Please don't sue me. I don't see what you could possibly sue me for…when you're the richest lady in Britain…but just in case!
First line "There he sat in all his glory" I think I read that in a different fic… I believe Fighting Fate by miss court-a-doo and it was about James, but I just wanted to say that so I didn't get in trouble.
There he sat in all his glory...dark hair...chiseled features...deep, dark brown, mysterious eyes. To Lily Evans he was perfect. She watched as he gave up on his charms essay, which she had just finished, and saw him climb the stairs to the 7th year boy's dormitories.
Just as she began to daydream for what must have been the millionth time about what it might be like to be in Sirius Black's arms, the object of her affection's best friend James Potter's voice broke into her thoughts:
"Hey, Lils, quit staring at Sirius's bum."
"Hey! I was doing no such thing!" To this James raised a dark eyebrow. "Okay...so maybe.. I mean NO! I wasn't...unless of course… gawking and staring are the same thing..." she mumbled lamely. James just smiled knowingly.
Now, Lily and James weren't the best of friends, but they got along fine. They might not have ever become friends if it weren't for the fact that while Lily was practically obsessed with James's best mate Sirius, James also happened to deeply admire Lily's friend Nancy Clearwater. Nancy had shoulder-length blonde hair and dazzling blue eyes. She was the tiniest bit of a ditz but James thought it made her even more adorable. Lily could still remember the day in fourth year when they found out about the other's feelings...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lily was staring at Sirius as usual and trying to walk onto the Hogwarts Express at the same time.
Well, that was a mistake.
She walked straight into James Potter, who also seemed to have a glazed look in his eyes as though he too had been staring at someone wistfully. Lily turned around to see who James could have possibly been staring at...and saw none other than her best friend trying to heave her suitcase onto the train.
"Oh my goodness..." she said. "You...you...fancy my best friend!" Instantly, James's hand flew to his long dark fly-away hair as it always did when he was embarrassed or under pressure.
"Well...so what if I do!"
"HA! So you admit it!"
"I...oh bugger...Well Miss Lily, don't think for a second that I didn't see you staring at Sirius!"
"I...you
saw that?"
"It was kind of hard to miss!"
"Oh no...If you say a word...I swear to Merlin you'll wish you had never met this redhead!"
"Whoa! Chill your hormones there Lils! I won't tell if you don't."
"How can I know you're not just saying that?"
"Hmm...I guess you'll just have to trust me!"
"Oh, I'm doomed!"
"Don't worry your pretty little head, I won't tell him. I swear by my Nimbus1000."
And so they walked onto the train discussing their best friends until they found an empty compartment to share with their friends.
