Title: Perspective

Rated K+

Summary: Jamie knows. Jamie sees. The Host by Stephenie Meyer (drabble) ((Jamie POV))

Disclaimer: I don't own The Host.

A/N: This is just a drabble in Jamie's POV I came up with based on his reaction when he first discovered Mel was still alive inside Wanda. It's probably horrible and OOC; this is my first time writing anything based off of Stephenie's work. I had a Twilight one-shot planned out, but I'm really unsure about posting it up too. Feel free to live any constructive criticism or advice in a review. I'd really appreciate it!

Melanie Stryder is my sister.

Wanda is my sister too.

I guess I'd always known it. At first, they tried to hide the possibility from my eyes. They tried to blind me from the truth until they were sure. I had always known. I had always seen.

"You're not Melanie." I had spoken when Wanda and I first met. She had nodded, she had lied. Wanda is a bad liar; I could always see it in her expression. Ian could always see it too. I wasn't sure what to think at first. I wasn't sure how accepting I should be. After all, when I met Wanda, I was told she was my enemy. At first, I thought I had believed it. Then, I realized there was no way Wanda was evil. Melanie was still alive inside her, Mel was still fighting. Wanda never erased her, Wanda couldn't be evil.

Wanda cared about me as much as Melanie. She shared all Mel's thoughts, memories, dreams . . . there was no way Wanda could be my enemy.

As much as I loved Mel, I loved her too.

I didn't know it could happen until Uncle Jeb convinced me, and Wanda confirmed. Even before Wanda had spoken the truth, I knew Uncle Jeb was right. After all, he had never been wrong before. Wanda had been trapped inside Mel; Melanie had been living inside Wanda. Melanie was alive, Melanie hadn't broken the promise she had made to me. Melanie came back. Wanda brought Melanie back.

Melanie Stryder is my sister.

And now, Wanda will always be my sister too.

A/N: Um, I'm not sure about this one. I was running low of ideas for this, I guess I'm just considering it an exercise instead of an actual fanfic that I'm proud of. I tried keeping Jamie IC as best I could. First person POV is tricky for me, I don't like writing in it. Thanks for reading everyone, until next time!
