Hermione was not, per Se, insane. She had been in a state of deep depression after the battle of Hogwarts, true. But then again Luna had helped her out of that. Now though, she believed everything the blonde said.
On rainy days Hermione would sometimes still be surrounded by black, dark and thoroughly depressing thoughts, but she was, otherwise, quite happy. She and Luna went on expeditions and had long discussions on Heliopaths and the Crumple-horned Snorkack..
And now the two of them were on such an expedition. They had travelled to Alaska and were currently residing in a magically reinforced tent in the middle of a snowy, white landscape.
Hermione was writing in the expedition book. They swapped regularly, but today was Hermiones lucky day.
They had been looking for an ice phoenix these past few weeks. It was a most amazing creature. It looked just like the fire phoenix, but instead of a hot, burning red colour, this one looked as though it was made of cold, sparkling ice.
A blue light lit up the hill behind their tent and Luna emidiately stopped making dinner, grabbed their wizard-camera and Hermione and they ran quietly up the hill.
There it was. The air around it burned silver with cold and Luna took lots of pictures. Then she turned to Hermione who had been documenting this discovery, glowing with pride and success.
They took one last look at the magical beast and walked back to the tent, falling onto their bunks laughing.
Then Luna stood up and walked over to Hermione. They smiled at each other and Hermione finally said "We did it! Damn, Luna, we really did it! Finally!" She grinned and pulled the unresisting blonde down for a kiss.
