Once they got on the plane, Kensi fell asleep. She was relatively quiet, which Deeks knew was a miracle in itself because when he got home from the warehouse, he had terrible nightmares. She had her head on his shoulder, and he was lucky that Sam and Callen were also asleep, since they would never approve.
When they got back to LA, Deeks drove Kensi home and walked her to the door.
"Kensi, I'm staying with you." He said quietly but firmly.
To his surprise she didn't even try to argue. She just went inside and immediately went towards the bathroom, probably to brush her teeth. Deeks stole a pillow off her bed and used the throw blanket off the back of the couch and laid down. He heard Kensi quietly move out if the bathroom and into the bedroom.
Deeks wasn't asleep long before he woke up to screaming. He leaped off the couch and ran into Kensi's room, where he found her thrashing wildly and screaming.
"Kensi!" He yelled and shook her shoulder.
Kensi jolted upright, her eyes wide.
"Deeks." She breathed, then she burst into tears.
Deeks quickly took her into his arms, hugging her tightly to him. He sat down on the bed, and she crawled into his lap. Deeks was shocked, but he understood the need to be near someone. He had never seen Kensi this vulnerable, and hopefully he never would again.
He held her under the sobs slowly tapered off, and she started breathing deeply, which meant she was asleep. Every time he moved to lay her back down, she would grab a handful of his shirt, which Deeks took as a sign to stay with her. So he held her. In the morning, Deeks had his arm wrapped around her stomach and she was laying half on top of him. He had fallen asleep sometime in the night, and they were laying diagonally in the bed. br/ Sam and Callen came over early to check on Kensi, and they let themselves in since no one answered the door. They found the two agents asleep in the bed, took a picture, (probably for later blackmail), and quietly left. Kensi hadn't had a nightmare since Deeks woke her up.
Kensi slept soundly when she was with Deeks.
