Jane and Maura have been together going on 2 years. They have talked about getting engaged but neither one has done anything about it yet.
Jane had BIG plans tonight to change all of that. She had planned this night for about 2 months. She made reservations for two at a nice restaurant for them and had talked to Maura's parents and got their blessing. She had talked to her mother and gotten her nervous under control. She couldn't wait to make Maura her wife. They had everything they could ask for but that was all they lacked. They already lived together and did everything a married couple did. She was looking forward to making that step with her. To starting a family with and growing old with had their ups and downs just like every relationship did. They had past ex's and relationships come back around. They've even had fights at and about work. But again she didn't want anybody else other than her Maura, who she loved more than anything.
Everything was going as planned for the day. Maura had gotten the two dozen roses and the card inviting her to Sorellina. Maura wasn't real sure what was going on in Jane's head but she couldn't wait to find out what it was. She knew tonight had to be what has been bugging Jane for the past week and every time she asked what was bothering her she just got a "Nothing" When she asked Angela or Frankie or even Frost she got responses of either "I don't know" or "Nothing that l know of." Sometimes the boys would just shrug at her when they saw her coming towards them. She knew she was starting to aggravate them but she was get disparate and it all was starting to aggravate her.
Jane had made sure they both could get off at 5 to give them enough time to get ready and make to the restaurant in time for their reservation at 7:30 that night.
Jane had sent a text to Maura about 4:40 saying "Going to Frankie's to get ready for our date. I will pick you up at 6:30 for it. Dress nice but bring a jacket, because you will need it. See you then my love." She didn't know if she should be excited or nervous. She texted back asking "What do you have planned for this evening? Dinner would have been enough you know." As she went about getting ready to leave work she got a simple reply that stated "You will soon find out! HA". She decided to just leave it only knowing she wouldn't be able to find out until later this evening.
Jane left her brother, Frankie's house at 6. She sent Maura a text saying she was on her way but had to make two stops before picking her up and then it was just them for the rest of the night. Maura was starting to get excited about what Jane had planned for them that night. She had all these things come to mind but what was really happening had not been something that crossed her mind at all.
On her way over to Maura's, Jane wanted to go by the restaurant to make sure everything was set up how she wanted it also she wanted to get a bottle of Maura's favorite wine so they Could continue their celebration after leaving the restaurant. By the time she did all of this she noticed she was making good timing.
In Jane's mind she was thinking "Everything is perfect and it's going to be great."
And everything was perfect so for until….
