Chapter 1: Making Changes

Life is just a road you choose, the path you pick upon, so that your destined journey begins, no do-overs

or detours. Trapped in your own destiny, this is how Amira saw it herself. She rarely dwelled upon her

past; there was not much of it she could recall ever since the day she had found herself in the middle of

what seemed to be an endless wood. Natalie, the woman who had taken the girl under her wing once

she had found her wandering by her lonesome self, was now sending her off to an asylum. No, not an

insane asylum, not what you're thinking. An asylum where different people- ranging from races to

species and abilities - from multiple dimensions clashed together to save our planet from

endangerment. Our planet was under attack, some of the abominations we were not even fully aware of, which worked against us, others… well this is what they trained for at the asylum. It was the battle to reclaim Earth. "I don't understand why I have to go…" she murmured, pale blue hues set on her hands, neatly folded in her lap. Amira did not understand much of anything about the world around her, as she had lived in a restricted kind of land, where no one was much friendly to others. Most recently, though, she had accidently stumbled upon a secret of her own. She had the ability of shadow manipulation. She could create a pitch black image in anyone's mind, whom ever she pleased, and manipulate it into a scene, creating physical or physiological pain. She had not known how to control it much yet, though she considered this a faulty reason. Natalie set the book she had in her hands down on the wooden end table, her eyes meeting the girl's, a look that demanded a cease of the complaints. "Amira, my dearest daughter, I know you may frown upon the idea of leaving home, but you must. You must learn of the world around you." The frail woman, aged and small, got up from her chair and made her way towards her daughter, arms outstretched to hold her in an embrace. She caressed Amira's hair gently, her hand stroking strands of the copper. "You will thank me for it in the future." And with that, Natalie left for her bedroom, leaving her daughter drowning in the lucidity of her inner thoughts. Amira sighed, rising to her feet and following close behind. This would take a lot of inner strength for the girl to comply with her soon-to-be-new-surroundings. Not even she could predict how this would pan out.

She now stood before the large abode, though it struck her more so as a school then an asylum, eyeing

it inquiringly before starting off towards the entrance of the building. It seemed so surreal to the young

girl, like a blur of a moment. She was actually away from home, her incredibly guarded sanctuary, and

off on her own. The red head had never experienced anything like this before, and she had a feeling she

would be home sick soon enough because of it. She was well protected, no means of freedom, and it

didn't bother her very much either. She preferred it this way, as she saw hid herself often from the

creatures of the world. Caught in the thoughts and emotions that formed a cloud In her thoughts, Amira

had managed to enter the building, only to bump into an innocent bystander. The girl bounced back,

hitting the ground with a thud.
